Zhang Approaches Two Million Before Break

Level 10 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

In a three-way single-raised pot, all players checked the {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop and Michael Zhang checked from the small blind on the {7-Diamonds} turn. Kahle Burns bet 54,000 on his left and Seth Davies folded behind him. Zhang called.

The river was the {j-Hearts} and Zhang checked to Burns who bet 132,000. Zhang flicked in the call and Burns showed only ace-high with {a-}{5-}. Zhang tabled {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and raked in the last pot before the break.

Toma Busts Luc Greenwood

Level 10 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Luc Greenwood got his last 250,000 or so in with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} but ran straight into the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} of Tsugunari Toma. The blades were in some danger on the {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop, but an {8-Diamonds} turn and {2-Clubs} river did nothing for Greenwood.

Two Down at Table 10

Level 10 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski got his stack in from the small blind with {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} and was against the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} of Sam Grafton in the big. The flop came clean for Badziakouski but running kings hit to bust him once more.

The next hand, Cary Katz shoved from under the gun for 130,000 and Michael Soyza called in the big blind.

Katz: {8-Spades}{6-Spades}
Soyza: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The other players had some fun with Katz playing outside of his tight reputation, and he was left wishing he folded as it ran out {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

Zhang's Heater Continues at Addamo's Expense

Level 10 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Michael Zhang
Michael Zhang

Michael Addamo limped from the button and Michael Zhang checked from the big blind. They saw a {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop where Zhang checked to Addamo who bet 14,000. Zhang check-raised to 40,000 and Addamo moved all in for around 160,000. Zhang had an easy decision, having flopped the top two.

Addamo: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Zhang: {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Addamo missed his outs on the {k-Clubs} turn and {a-Spades} river and busted for the third time in the tournament. Zhang climbed to 1.75 million or so.

Addamo Pays Zhang

Level 10 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Michael Addamo checked in the big blind and called a bet of 90,000, about the size of the pot, from Michael Zhang in the cutoff. The final board read {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Addamo checked the river. Zhang bet 80,000 and Addamo used two time extensions then called but couldn't beat {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} for a set.

Sam Greenwood Makes a Move on the Flop

Level 10 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Three-way to {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, Michael Zhang checked from the big blind, Sam Greenwood checked on his left, and Timothy Adams bet 26,000 from the cutoff. Zhang called but Greenwood had other plans. He pushed forward all his chips, shoving for just over 300,000. Both of his opponents folded.

Grafton Busts Kisacikoglu With River Call

Level 10 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

On a completed board of {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, Orpen Kisacikoglu shoved all in for 165,000 from the big blind. That was slightly over the size of the pot, which was about 140,000. Sam Grafton got the count and called from the button with just {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for ace-high, but it was good against {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.
