Head-On Collision Between Phua and Quoss
It. Is. On.
That's the best way to describe the early action here in the Teak Salon at Crown. Paul Phua and Fabian Quoss just clashed in a massive pot which launched the German to the top of the leader board.
The action started with Phua, who raised it up to 2,300 from the hijack. Richard Yong three-bet from the button to 5,300, and Quoss called from the big blind. Phua tossed in the extra chips as well, and the flop brought out the .
Quoss and Phua checked to Yong who quickly bet 11,000. Quoss made the call, and that put the control in Phua's hands. He counted out some chips and raised it up to 41,000. Yong didn't hesitate too long and made the call.
The action was now back on Quoss, who went into the tank for about two minutes.
"I'm all in," the German eventually uttered.
Quoss' shove was for a total of 189,200 more, on top of Phua's raise. Phua tanked for a couple of minutes and then called it off. Yong snap-folded, and it was time for the first all-in showdown of the night.

"Gotta call right?" Phua smiled as he looked over to Philipp Gruissem who nodded silently.
The board ran out , , and Quoss doubled up. Phua was left with just 14,000 chips and got up from his seat to smoke a cigarette.
"Can I rebuy now?" Phua asked to the table and dealer when he sat back down. The players explained that he had to lose all his chips first before being able to receive another full stack.
We all know what this means, it's gamble time for Phua who's looking to stay in this tournament a whole lot longer.
