We're down to the final nine players, and they are drawing for seats and getting chip counts. We'll be back in two shakes.
Here's what some of the players thought about this historic event earlier in the day.
Every time we look over at the secondary table, it seems like Sam Trickett's got chips in the middle and forcing folds.
The latest session of "Watch Sam Scoop Chips" saw the board reading , and Nioklay Evdakov calling a 60,000 bet from Trickett, swelling the total pot to about 170,000.
The river was the , and Trickett wasted no time tossing out six brown 25k chips, making it 150,000 to call. Evdakov, glasses on and all, thought long and hard about what to do. He held the chips required to make the call in his hand, as the dealer counted down the time. Finally at five seconds, Evdakov mucked, sending another healthy batch of chips over to Trickett's stack.
All the chips went in the middle in a blind versus blind battle between Chris "Jesus" Ferguson and Daniel "jungleman12" Cates. Cates was at risk and behind holding against Ferguson's .
The board ran out and Cates was sent to the rail giving us our official final table of nine.
There was a shout of "all in, and call" just as play resumed from break at the secondary table. When we got to the table, the board was reading , and Andrew Feldman was at risk holding against the monster draw of Paul Phua's .
The turn card was a good one for Feldman, and the river prompted a big fist pump from the young Full Tilt pro.
John Juanda commented that it was a "great flop" for Phua, as Phua slid his last 7,500 into the next pot. Benyamine called from the small blind, and Andrew Feldman decided to take on the role of executor alone, raising it up to 31,000 from the big blind. Benyamine folded, and Phua flipped over , which was dominated by Feldman's . The board made Feldman a straight, and eliminated the high stakes gambler from this $250k event.
Feldman is now on about 440,000.
After a flop of , Daniel Cates moved all in and was called by Richard Yong.
Yong showed and Cates tabled .
The on the turn was no help to Cates, but the gave him the straight and the double to hang on to his tournament hopes.
On a flop, Chris Ferguson checked to Phil Ivey who bet 60,000.
Ferguson thought long and hard about what he would do and as the clock ran down, he moved all in.
"How much," Ivey asked. The dealer began counting Ferguson's chips. "Do you start the clock while you're counting," Ivey asked concerned about his time bank. The dealer assured him that the clock would start when he had gotten the count. It was 90,000 more for Ivey to call. He thought for a beat and tossed in the call.
Ivey tabled to Ferguson's flopped flush with .
The turn and river brought the and respectively and Ferguson doubled his stack.
