Short-stacked, with about 65,500 in chips, Van Marcus opened with a raise to 10,500 from the button. Action then fell to Jessica Dawley in the small blind who moved all in over the top, having Marcus well covered.

Marcus folded, leaving himself with about 55,000 in chips and safe, for now anyway, of busting on the bubble.

Earlier in the day, Marcus was overheard saying, "My Mum told me not to come home until I made the money."
