Aristidoooozy of a Hand
William Skountzos opened with a raise to 3,200 from under-the-gun and was called by the player sitting to his immediate left before the action reached a player in the lowjack seat, who moved all in for roughly 19,000.
Action then reached Peter Aristidou who looked down at pocket kings and made it 50,000 to go, in an attempted isolation play. Skountzos then moved all in over the top of Aristidou's bet for a total of 114,000. The flat-caller got out of the way and the decision returned to Aristidou, who went into the tank.
A minute or so passed before he looked over at Skountzos and said, "Anyone else I would snap call, but you, I fold this," open-mucking his two red kings.
At the time, it proved to be a good move as Skountzos tabled at the showdown and the lowjack player showed , but when the dealer spread the flop, the appeared in the window, followed by the and , which would've given Aristidou top set.
The turn and river then filled out , and thanks to Aristidou's fold, Skountzos took down the pot with a pair of aces to move to 190,000 in chips.
Aristidou was left with a still-manageable 110,000 after the fold.
