James Obst Eliminated in 11th Place
With the action folding around to John Joannou in the cutoff, he made it 18,000 to go and James Obst jammed the remainder of his 100,000 chips into the middle. Joannou quickly made the call and the cards were tabled:

Obst: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Joannou: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{2-Spades} and the Day 2 chip leader headed to the rail in 11th place, collecting AU$10,640 for his effort.

No Sleepy Hollow for Peters

Not asleep yet . . .
Not asleep yet . . .
Sam Higgs bumped it up to 16,000 and with the action on Phillip Peters, he made it 48,000 to go. Higgs made the call and when the flop of {7-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{K-Spades} came down, Peters led out for 10,000.

Higgs sat in the tank and eventually called. When the {10-Diamonds} fell on the turn, he folded to a 20,000 chip bet from Peters.

Peters is now sitting on 200,000. Higgs slips back to 400,000.

Higgs Getting Aggressive

Noah Schwartz made it 16,500 to go and both Sam Higgs and Phillip Peters made the call.

The flop fell down {2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, and Scwartz led out for 25,000 before Higgs raised to 75,000 total. Peters passed and so did Schwartz and Higgs tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

The following hand, Higgs continued his aggression by opening from the cutoff to 14,000. Peters made the call. On a flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Spades}, a 30,000 continuation bet was enough to take it down Higgs flashed {A-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Higgs is now up to 468,000 in chips.

Dull Doubles

Alexander Debus opened to 16,500 and was faced with a re-raise to 43,500 from Jonathan Dull. Debus moved all in and Dull made the call.

Debus: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Dull: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The flop fell {7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} to Debus in the lead and send Dull into despair. However things would change dramatically when the {J-Hearts} smacked on the turn to lock the pot up for Dull.

The meaningless {10-Clubs} landed on the river to see Dull double to 405,000 as Debus slipped to 332,000 in chips.

Lindbjerg Doubles

James Obst opened from under the gun to 14,500 and Thomas Lindbjerg reraised to 45,000. With the action back on Obst, he moved all in and Lindbjerg quickly made the call.

Obst: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Lindbjerg: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The flop ran out {Q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and Lindbjerg avoided a sweat to double up to 470,000. Obst slipped to 138,000 in chips.

John Joannou has just trippled up at the hands of James Obst and Alexander Roumeliotis.

The flop fell down {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and all three players eventually got their chips into the middle.

Joannou: {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Obst: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Roumeliotis: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The turn fell the {10-Diamonds} and river the {8-Diamonds} to see Joannou tripple with a flush as Roumeliotis took the side-pot with a set. With Joannou now on 210,000, Obst slipped to 327,000 and Roumeliotis moves to 85,000 in chips.
