Tran on the Rise

Kenny Tran is in business.
Kenny Tran is in business.
Kenny Tran has been hanging around 20,000 for most of the afternoon. He finally cracked the 30,000-mark in a recent hand against Tom Guise. Tran moved all in for about 10,000 after the flop came down {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}. Guise, holding {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}, must have figured he could rely on his club-and-set draw if Tran held an ace. It turned out that Tran did indeed hold an ace -- he had {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} for top two pair. The turn {A-Spades} took all of the drama out the hand by making a full house for Tran. The river {9-Hearts} completed the board.

Guise dropped to 31,000, while Tran is up to 32,000.
