At least 725 players entered the 2019 APPT Manila Main Event on Day 1b, bringing the total number of players to well over 1,100. That means they have more than tripled the original ?20,000,000 guarantee, with payouts yet to be confirmed.

Yesterday's chip leader Jingzhi Wang bagged well in excess of 400,000, but today there was no overwhelming chip leader during the latter stages of the day's play. Several players bagged well over 200,000 including Yuichiro Harada (252,500), Alexis W Lim (248,500), Tsun Wai Yue (236,000), Wayne Heung (225,500) and Qinyi Tong (224,500).

However, the chip leader appears to be Lithuania's Tautvydas Jonikas who bagged 276,500 to lead the provisional total of 279 players advancing to Day 2.

Another notable through to Day 2 is Aditya Sushant. The Indian bracelet winner jumped into the tournament late and had 150,000 heading into the last level. However, he endured a tough time of it eventually bagging 57,000 returning to blinds of 1,500/3,000 at the start of Day 2.

Several players missing out on a bag included Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin, Super High Roller runner-up Lester Edoc, Junichi Nakanowatari, Sean Carbonneau and Arravind Udayakumar.

The tournament will resume on August 3rd at 1 p.m. local time. The plan is to play ten 60-minute levels. Should the plan change, we'll keep you updated. We'll also be bringing you updates as we approach the bubble as we continue our coverage of APPT Manila.
