Who Will Make it Through Day 2 of the PokerStars APPT Korea ?1,800,000 Main Event?
Day 2 of the PokerStars APPT Korea ?1,800,000 APPT Main Event is set to kick off at 1 p.m. local time today! The much anticipated main event drew a total of 581 which generated a prizepool of ?912,983,400, more than tripling the guarantee. Only 153 of the slips sold will be returning for Day 2 and everyone will be chasing chipleader Konstantin Pogodin who bagged an impressive 359,500 in Day 1b.
Defending champion Michael Soyza is still in contention with a healthy stack of 275,000 which is good for fourth on the leaderboard and will be a top threat to every with the way he has been running. Soyza took down the Super High Roller just days ago and is most certainly looking like he will be achieving another deep run in the main event.
The remaining 153 players will be battling it out today to reach the 72 for a min-cash of ?3,290,000 ($2,895). The eventual champion of the tournament will be pulling in a cool ?198,100,000 ($174,32) and the trophy for the 2019 APPT Korea Main Event.
Other notable stacks to start the day include Taiwan's Ching Wei Chen (295,000), Day 1a chipleader Takao Shimizu (281,000), well-known German pro Kilian Loeffler (269,500), China's Weiran Pu (243,000), and Xinglong Huang (234,500).
PokerStars Ambassador Celina Lin also found a bag at the end of the night and will be starting the day with an above average stack of 186,500. Other well-known's that are still in contention are Jack Wu (158,500), Sparrow Cheung (128,500), Phachara Wongwichit (119,000), Yake Wu (115,000), Randy Lew (113,000), and Linh Tran (100,000),
The second day of the tournament will begin at level 14 with the blinds at 1,500/3,000 and a 3,000 big blind ante. Levels will now be a 60-minute duration with a break after every two levels and dinner break may be scheduled if deemed necessary by the tournament director. The tournament will redraw at the last three, two, and final table. Play will commence once the final table is set and those remaining nine players will move onto Day 3 where a champion will be crowned.
