Steicke Cracks the Millball
David Steicke is the first player in the field to hold a seven-figure stack and PokerNews was there to catch all the action.
One player opened from under the gun before Steicke made the call from the cutoff seat. The big blind player also made the call as the flop was dealt.
The big blind player checked, before the player directly to his left led for 32,000. This is when Steicke made a min-raise. The play was then back on the big blind player and he check-raised all in. The player who led got out of the way and Steicke started to think about his decision.
After a short while contemplating, Steicke made the call and turned over for a flopped set. His opponent held and would need a club to stay alive.
When the turn and river bricked out Steicke took down the massive pot and sits with a towering stack of chips.
