Someone Bring Chen Some Stomach Medicine

Bad fold, Bobo.
Bad fold, Bobo.
Big pots are the norm now. Daoxing Chen started one with a preflop button raise to 125,000. Darkhan Botabayev added fuel to the fire by re-raising the small blind to 375,000. Chen asked for a count, stood up, tanked for a few minutes and then called.

The all-club flop {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {5-Clubs} drew some whisles and murmuring from the crowd. Botabayev had first action and opted to move all in for 1.4 million. Chen asked for a count again (same as before the flop), stood up a second time, and started fiddling with his own chips. Presumably he was checking how much he would have left if he called and lost.

Two minutes into the tank, Chen briefly sat down, smiled, then stood back up. He asked the dealer to spread the pot. Everyone in the gallery stood expectantly, watching and waiting for Chen to do something -- anything! Chen looked Botabayev up and down, prompting Botabayev to break out into a grin and laugh.

At the five-minute mark, TD Danny McDonagh told Chen he'd have only two more minutes to act. Chen replied that one minute would be enough, so McDonagh immediately put the clock on him. Chen took off his jacket and draped it over the back of his chair and sat back down. McDonagh called twenty seconds.

Finally at the six-minute mark, Chen open-folded {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}. Botabayev showed {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} as he collected the pot. Chen looked like he wanted to vomit.

Keeping It Friendly

Mike Kim completed the small blind and Daoxing Chen checked his option in the big blind.

The board of {9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades} was checked down with Chen showing down {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for the best hand.

Mike Kim Doubles Up

On the first hand back from the break, Mike Kim -- who has been relatively silent the last two hours -- opened the button to 150,000. After Daoxing Chen passed, Darkhan Botabayev moved all in from the big blind.

"Call," said Kim.

"Call?" Botabayev asked, somewhat surprised. He tabled {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} and was in a dominating position against Kim's {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades}. Nobody improved on the all-baby {2-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} flop or the {5-Hearts} turn, but the gallery erupted when the 3-outer{10-Hearts} fell on the river to give Kim the double-up.

Kim now has 1.75 million chips. Botabayev is down to about 1.85 million.

Botabayev Bets The Ace

Daoxing Chen raised to 120,000 from the small blind and Darkhan Botabayev popped it up to 300,000 from the big blind. Chen went into the familarity of the tank and after a few minutes he emerged by splashing out a call.

Chen checked in the dark as the flop fell {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Botabayev checked behind.

The turn brough the {J-Spades} and again both players checked. The river was the {A-Hearts} and again Chen checked. Botabayev fired 500,000 and again Chen tanked. After a minute or so Chen stood, tapped the table and folded. Botabayev rakes in the pot.

Chen Chip Leader Again

Daoxing Chen

The chips are going around the table again. Dermot Blain raised his button to 110,000 and was called by big blind Daoxing Chen. Chen checked the {3-Clubs} {k-Hearts} {10-Hearts} flop dark; Blain checked behind. When the turn fell {4-Clubs} Chen took a stab at the pot with a bet of 175,000. Blain wasted no time in calling.

When the river fell {3-Hearts}, Chen practically threw 375,000 chips into the pot, then turned to his side table to grab a large mug and take a drink. Blain quickly called and found himself mucking as Chen table a heart flush, {Q-Hearts} {6-Hearts}.

That pot will most likely make Chen the chip leader once again.
