Sawyers Struggling

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Josh Redhouse raised to 50,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Nathan Sawyers who called in the big blind. They saw a flop of {5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Sawyers check-called for 55,000.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Sawyers checked again. Redhouse bet 130,000 and Sawyers gave it some thought before matching the bet.

The river landed the {3-Spades} and this time Sawyers decided to lead out with a bet of 225,000. Redhouse instantly verbalized a call as Sawyers showed {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} for ace-high. Redhouse tabled {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for trip queens to collect a very nice pot.

Redhouse climbs to 1.5 million, leaving Sawyers in trouble with 380,000 chips.

Space Ship Building Time for Gill

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Oliver Gill has just doubled up and then some!

It started with Nathan Sawyers opening to it up to 57,000 from under the gun.

Jazz Mathers flat-called from the hijack and the action flew to Gill in the small blind.

Gill three-bet to 164,000 (starting the hand with around 500,000 total) .

Sawyers, with 1.3 million in total, made the call and so too did big-stacked Mathers.

Flop: {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Oliver led for 150,000 here C leaving himself with exactly 177,000 behind.

Sawyers thought for a while, then raised to 300,000.

Mathers folded, Gill moved in for 27,000 more and Sawyers called.

Sawyers: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Gill: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

No one respects my raises, said Gill as the dealer flipped over a {3-Hearts} turn and a {a-Diamonds} river.

Gill is now building a space ship out of his around 1.2 million in chips.

Gill Wins a Few

Level 22 : 10,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

Oliver Gill raised to 45,000 from middle position and Nathan Sawyers was again in the thick of it with a call in the cutoff. The flop landed {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Gill tossed out 75,000 in chips which was enough to force a fold from his opponent.

I had jacks, said Gill after the hand. Often I lie about these things, but this time Im not.

Gill is still the short stack with around 550,000 chips.

Sawyers Climbing, Young Falling

Level 22 : 10,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

Rory Young opened with a raise to 40,000 from middle position and picked up three callers to see a flop of {10-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

Action checked to Young who continued for 51,000. Oliver Gill folded but Nathan Sawyers announced a raise in position on the button to 160,000. Milan Gurung folded from the blinds to bring the action back to Young.

I can see youre going to tilt me today, sighed Young before folding. Sawyers flashed a {6-} and raked in the pot.

Sawyers is up to 1.4 million with Young down to 920,000.

Peco and Nathan Preflop War

Level 22 : 10,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

Peco Stojanovski was under the gun when he opened it up to 50,000. Nathan Sawyers was next to act and thought for quite some time before three-betting to 125,000. A flurry of cards went into the muck from all directions of the table before it was back on Stojanovski. It didn't take long for Stojanovski to four-bet to 250,000 - enough to see Sawyers muck.

As Stojanovski raked his new chips, he showed {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

Brent Taunton Eliminated in 9th Place ($17,400)

Level 22 : 10,000/2,000, 3,000 ante
Brent Taunton - 9th Place
Brent Taunton - 9th Place

Well, that didnt take long. On just the second hand, weve lost Brent Taunton from our final table.

Milan Gurung started things off with a raise to 50,000 from under the gun. Taunton called from middle position and Peco Stojanovski called on the button. The trio saw a flop of {6-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

Action checked around the table to Stojanovski who bet 125,000. Gurung folded but Taunton announced a check-raise to 400,000 which represented most of his stack. Stojanovski thought briefly before announcing all in and Taunton called off his last chips.

Stojanovski: {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Taunton: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}

It was top two pair for Stojanovski against the nut flush draw of Taunton with two cards to come. The turn was the {2-Clubs} and river an equally-bricky {5-Hearts} to see Taunton sent to an early exit.

Taunton takes home $17,400 for his 9th place finish as Stojanovski is now challenging for the chip lead with around 1.8 million in chips.
