Winning The Rubies

The action was opened by Brendon Rubie to 650 from early position. The player on the button made the call, along with both players in the blinds.

All four players checked as the {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop was dealt and the {5-Hearts} would hit the turn. This time the play would be checked to Rubie and he would bet 1,700. The button folded and the small blind player made the call, while the big blind also got out of the way.

The {2-Spades} completed the board on the river and the play would again be checked to Rubie. A bet of 2,550 from Rubie would be called by his opponent.

When Rubie turned over his {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, it was enough to send his opponent's card into the muck as Rubie now sits behind a much healthier stack than earlier.
