$25K Fantasy Sweats for Day 3 of the 2024 WSOP

Aram Zobian of Team Wilson has a shot at a bracelet today.

The third day of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) will crown two bracelet winners. There are no $25K Fantasy implications in Event #2: $500 Casino Employees, but there are in Event #1: $5,000 Champions Reunion, which is near the final table.

Two players from the league are still in contention in Aram Zobian (Team Wilson) and David Coleman (Team The Dinkers), though both are sitting in eighth and ninth place respectively.

Day 2 of Event #3: $500 Kickoff NLH Freezeout drew 3,485 players but only 151 advanced to Day 2 including Qiang Xu (Team Lady Gaga), who is actually the chip leader with 2.13 million. Others returning to action are Marco Johnson (Team Sternheimer�C 1,005,000 in chips), Dan Shak (Team Noori �C 730,000), Daniel Negreanu (Team DPMC �C 650,000), Ryan Riess (Team Girl Dads �C 530,000),

Among the $25K Fantasy players to cash the tournament were Justin Saliba (171st - $1,310), Kane Kalas (259th - $1,168), Jim Collopy (379th - $1,001), Renji Mao (437th - $1,001), Tony Lin (444th - $1,001), Maria Ho (449th - $1,001), and Shaun Deeb (520th - $1,001).

In Event #4: $1,500 Omaha 8 or Better, the top 140 finishers from the 928-entry field will make Day 2

Among the $25K players returning to action are Robert Mizrachi (189,000), Felipe Ramos (175,000), Tyler Brown (164,500), Anson Tsang (140,000), Yuval Bronshtein (131,000), Chris Vitch (125,000), Hal Rotholz (121,500), Brian Yoon (110,000), Michael Mizrachi (100,500), Brian Rast (99,500), Ben Yu (97,000), Punnat Punsri (95,500), Eli Elezra (88,000), Yingui Li (79,500), Nick Guagenti (78,000), John Riordan (72,000), Joey Couden (72,000), Matt Glantz (62,500), Nick Schulman (50,000), Jeff Madsen (48,500), Yueqi Zhu (43,000), Allen Kessler (41,000), Benny Glaser (36,000), James Chen (30,500), and Nacho Barbero (24,000).

The Stage is Set for the $25K Fantasy During the 2024 World Series of Poker!

This past Monday, 152 players were auctioned off into 19 teams of eight during the 25K Fantasy Draft for the 2024 World Series of Poker, held at the illustrious PokerGO Studio.

With a total prize pool of $475,000, the stakes are incredibly high for the participants. The payouts are structured to reward the top four teams substantially, with the first-place team taking home $225,000, followed by $125,000 for second place, $75,000 for third, and $50,000 for fourth.

The draft followed an auction format, where teams with a $200 allowance bid on players to form their ultimate rosters. The event was marked by intense bidding wars, with several players commanding high prices.

Negreanu, Deeb and Livingston Most Expensive Picks

Daniel Negreanu was the highest-priced player of the night. Reigning champions Team DPMC, made up of Donnie Peters & Matthew Clark, secured Negreanu for a staggering $132, making him the most expensive player in 25K Fantasy Draft history.

"I swear to God, I was picking myself this year," said a stunned Negreanu, who's the second-highest point earner in the history of the league.

"My whole strategy was to get myself, Josh Arieh (TheCoffeeBreakers.com - $73), and Jeremy Becker (Team NGNF - $3) to fill it out." Negreanu told PokerNews after the Draft. "I had to go back to old school, Nick Schulman ($66), Chino Rheem ($40), Nacho Barbero ($53). We bought Erick Lindgren ($1) and David Williams ($3)."

Alex Livingston claimed the second-highest bid, joining Team Lang for $110. Shaun Deeb followed as the third-most expensive player, falling two places from last year. Ren Lin's Team Lady Gaga paid $104, more than half their budget, for the perennial WSOP Player of the Year (POY) contender on the very first sale of the night.

All-Time Bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth also came with a hefty fee, costing $72, while poker icon Phil Ivey went to Dan Sepiol's Team for just $16.

2023 WSOP PoY Ian Matakis' price rallied to $22 and was Team Lang's second pick of the night. Last summer's Main Event winner and Team Lucky member Daniel Weinman nearly went for $2, but the bids eventually came flying in. Weinman remained in home colors after partners Deeb and Arieh spent $31 to keep his services.
