How To Get Maximum Value with Pocket Kings with Niall Farrell

The 5,300 European Poker Tour Prague Main Event has reached the middle of Day 4 with the huge 1,044-entry starting field having now shrunk down to just 42 players. And among those still in the hunt is the one who ended up claiming the last EPT Main Event trophy in Malta Niall Farrell of Glasgow, Scotland.

The player known as Firaldo87 online stood alone at the end of that one in Malta, topping 651 to earn a 534,330 payday that helped push his overall career tournament earnings total up over $1.9 million.

Farrells Main Event run in Prague has seen him often high in the counts, although at the moment he sits a little below the average after having made a tough fold, letting go of top set of jacks on the river when facing an all-in from Marc MacDonnell on a board with three clubs showing.

Earlier in the tournament Farrell was able to get a big boost to his stack near the end of Day 2 in a hand in which he was dealt pocket kings and managed to get maximum value from an aggressive opponent.

Our Sarah Herring caught up with Farrell to talk about the hand which begins with Farrell describing a player opening from under the gun. Farrell had just won a pot off the player and having an idea he might be ready to play a hand aggressively, Farrell chooses just to flat-call from late position with his pocket kings.

Watch and listen to how things go from there:

Having earned that big pot with two kings, Farrell now continues his quest to become king of the EPT a second time in Prague.
