Urmo Velvelt is an Estonian poker player best known for finishing second in the 2024 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event, which earned him �854,000.
Velvelt won the �550 Unibet DeepStack Open in his native Tallinn in October 2019 for �18,000, his first five-figure prize. Ten months later, Velvelt came close to becoming a WSOP champion, finishing fourth in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed Championship online at GGPoker for $214,051.
The following year, he finished tenth in the $777 No-Limit Hold'em Lucky Sevens WSOP online event at GGPoker for $12,638.
In July 2023, Velvelt finished third in the �1,100 Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown Main Event for �49,300.
Velvelt was one of 768 entrants in the �10,350 WSOP Europe Main Event in October 2024. Five days later, he fell at the final hurdle, finishing second to Simone Andrian for a career-best �854,000.
