Jan-Peter Jachtmann is a German poker player from Hamburg, who is best known for his final table appearance in the 2023 WSOP Main Event.
The first time Jachtmann shows in the tournament records is a 500 stud event in 2003. Over the course of the following decades, he racked up around $1.9 million in cashes, mostly across Europe. The vast majority of his cashes are in Germany and Austria with the occasional British, Maltese, Spanish, or Czech event thrown in. Jachtmann's first US cashes came in 2012 and included a WSOP bracelet for winning the 2012 WSOP $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha Championship ($$ 661,000).
After making the 2023 WSOP Main Event final table he said, "I don't really like No-Limit Hold'em that much." However, in light of his deep run, he did also add that, "now it looks like I might play some more!"
Jachtmann finished Day 1d in the top ten percent of chipstacks. Over the course of the event, he never bagged outside of the top third until he was eliminated in fourth-place by Adam Walton on Day 9 for $3,000,000.
