Franco Spitale is an Argentine poker player best known for winning the $1,500 Millionaire Maker title at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.
Spitale's first recorded live score came in March 2013 in the PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Chile Main Event. Between 2013 and 2017, most of Spitale's results stemmed from tournaments in his native Argentina or in South America. In April 2017, he won the Circuito Argentino de Poker in Buenos Aires for the equivalent of $82,124. In November 2014, he won the same event in Rosario for $102,944.
In 2020, when the WSOP moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Spitale finished fourth in an $840 No-Limit Hold'em Bounty event, coming close to capturing a gold bracelet. He came close again in 2022, finishing fourth in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Tag Team event.
In June 2023, Spitale won $100,733 for a ninth-place finish in a $3,500 Wynn Summer Classic event before min-cashing in the $25,000 GGMillion$ High Roller Championship at the 2023 WSOP Paradise.
Spitale headed to the 2024 WSOP in Las Vegas and bought into the $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold'em. Five days later, he was the last player standing, winning his first gold bracelet and $1,250,125. The final hand was incredible. All th chips went in preflop, Justin Carey holding 2?2? and Spitale holding A?10?. Carey improved to a set on the 10?2?5? flop, and Spitale looked dead and buried. However, the A? turn and A? river gifted Spitale an unlikely full house and the title.
