David Funkhouser is an American professional poker player from Long Beach, California. He is best known for winning Event #63: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw at the 2024 World Series of Poker for $123,314 and his first WSOP bracelet.
Funkhouser's live poker tournament cashes date back to 2009, and his first WSOP in-the-money finish came at the 2011 WSOP. Funkhouser ran deep in the 2012 WSOP Main Event, finishing 112th for a career-best $52,718.
Between 2013 and 2021, Funkhouser looked to have taken time away from poker because he only recorded four cashes. However, he returned to the tables with renewed vigor at the 2021 WSOP, cashing in four events.
At the 2022 WSOP, he finished second in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship for $200,356, a new personal best. He cashed six times that year.
Funkhouser registered ten in-the-money finishes at the 2023 WSOP. He then competed in the 2023 PokerGO Tour Mixed Games II series, winning the $10,200 H.O.R.S.E. for $187,200, finishing fourth in the $10,200 Dealer's Choice for $53,900, and second in the $5,100 No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw for $38,898.
In 2024, Funkhouser won a $1,100 8-game tournament at the Wynn Las Vegas for $22,129 a few days before the 2024 WSOP started. After cashing in two WSOP events, Funkhousers busted in fourth place in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot. Two more cashes followed before Funkhouser won the $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw event for his first WSOP bracelet and $123,314.
