Powerfest at partypoker

The seventh edition of Powerfest kicked off its 147-event-schedule with $15 million in guaranteed prizes on Jan. 21 at partypoker. It isn't too late to get into the action as the festival runs until Feb. 4 and some of the best tournaments are still yet to come.

One of the great aspects of Powerfest is that the events are evenly broken out into Low, Medium and High tiers. Each tier features buy-ins approximately 10-times as much as the lower tier. This means whether you are a high-roller, a low-stakes player, or somewhere in between, you'll find plenty on the schedule to wet your appetite.

Some of the biggest events are saved for the final day of the festival on Feb. 4 with Powerfest events alone accounting for $4.7 million in guaranteed prizes. There are three separate events with $1 million prize pools by themselves including the $5,200 Powerfest #46-H: $1M Gtd NLH, the $215 Powerfest #48-M: $1M Gtd Main Event, and the $2,100 Powerfest #48-H: $1M Gtd Main Event.

Promotions Galore

Powerfest is the biggest online tournament festival of the month. However, partypoker is making the festival even more lucrative for its players thanks to a handful of promotions suitable for grinders and recreational players alike.

Leaderboards

The promotions most suitable for the hardcore grinders are the three Powerfest leaderboards and the two satellite leaderboards.

The three Powerfest leaderboards are broken out into the same tiers as the events. This means that high-stakes players will be competing against other high-stakes players and lower-stakes players will be similarly competing against lower-stakes players.

Each time a player cashes in any of the 147 Powerfest events, they will earn points on the leaderboard. The higher their finish and the bigger the buy-in, the more points they will be awarded. The winner of the High leaderboard will get $10,000, the Medium leaderboard champ will bank $5,000, and the Low leaderboard victor will collect $2,000.

However, there are many other prizes to be played for with each leaderboard awarding cash prizes to the top 150 places.

Also, players can earn a share of $34,000 by grinding Powerfest satellites. Points are earned based on how many satellites won and the buy-ins of the events. The two leaderboards are for Medium and High events and award the top five places.

Recreational players may not be able to grind hard enough to take advantage of the leaderboards, but they should be able to have a chance, along with the grinders, to win big in two other amazing promotions.

Golden Chip

The first 100 players to win entry via satellite to each of the three Main Events will be awarded a Golden Chip. If a Golden Chip holder wins the High Main Event, they will bank an additional $15,000 on top of the money won from the prize pool. Likewise, if a Golden Chip holder wins the Medium Main Event they will take home an additional $10,000, and if the winner of the Low Main Event holds a Golden Chip, they will be awarded an additional $5,000.

Double the Rewards Points

Last, but not least, on Jan. 26, Jan. 27, Feb. 2 and Feb. 3, players will earn double the amount of reward points on any of the Powerfest events they enter. This is a promotion anyone can expect to be awarded from since it doesn't involve winning an event or climbing a leaderboard.
