Lex Eyes First WCOOP Title as Spraggy Still Draws a Blank
Table Of Contents
He might be lagging behind in the early WCOOP League standings, but Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis is leading by example in pursuit of back-to-back League titles.
After picking up his first SCOOP title earlier this year, Veldhuis has advanced to Day 2 of Event #9: $5,200 Bounty Builder Super High Roller, with just ten players separating him from a maiden WCOOP title.
Can Veldhuis Get It Done?
Veldhuis isn't the only player from the 2024 WCOOP League to advance to Day 2 of Event #9-H. Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski (Team easywithaces) and Jerry "Perrymejsen" Odeen (Team tonkaaaa) also advanced.
Players are currently guaranteed $5,744 after Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson (Team Spraggy) was eliminated in 12th place.

2024 WCOOP League Standings After Day 2
- Team Aakkari - 205 points
- Team easywithaces - 190 points
- Team peace&loove - 165 points
- Team L. Veldhuis - 150 points
- Team tonkaaaa - 110 points
- Team Spraggy - 0 points
It's Andre Akkari who still leads the WCOOP League at this early stage, and he will look to add more points tonight with Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski (pictured) resuming Event #10-M: $215 HORSE second in chips. Just 18 players remain from the starting field of 215 but there's also other WCOOP League interest, with Renan "Internett93o" Bruschi from Team Easywithaces also advancing.
Fintan gained 145 points overnight, helped by Patrick "pads1161" Leonard, who finished ninth in Event #3-H: $1,050 Mystery Warm-Up.
SCOOP League champion Lex Veldhuis is also up and running and could have had the first team to secure a WCOOP winner in the form of Denis "aDrENalin710" Strebkov. However, the number one draft pick could only manage a runner-up finish in Event #8-H $530 NLO8 behind Blaz "Scarmak3r" Zerjav.
Meanwhile, Spraggy remains rooted to the bottom of the leaderboard and is yet to get on the board.
Meanwhile, it was a good night for PokerStars Team Pro Georgina "GJReggie" James, making two HORSE Day 2s. She returns for the same Day 2 as Dzivielevski and Bruschi fifth in chips, while also through to Day 2 of Event #10-L: $22 HORSE. In that event, she sits 16th in chips with just 44 players remaining.
