PokerStars 2024 Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania COOP Schedule Released With $5.5 Million Guaranteed
Table Of Contents
There is cause for excitement for American online poker players as PokerStars has just released the schedule for the 2024 Championship Of Online Poker (COOP) in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, which comes with a total of $5.5 million in guarantees and runs from September 13th through September 30th.
This year, the player pool in the United States will be divided into two markets. Players in New Jersey and Michigan will compete in the same tournaments while those based in Pennsylvania will have their own series as the wait for legislation allowing for fully merged American player pools continues.
Still, for the second consecutive year the two individual series will run simultaneously alongside the Ontario COOP so that, at the very least, there is a sense of a singular COOP season akin to the ever-popular World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) or Spring Series Of Online Poker (SCOOP), available on the global PokerStars client.
Prizes and Promotions
The guaranteed $5,500,000 in total tournament prizepools will be divided such that the lion's share, $3,000,000, is set aside for the combined Michigan and New Jersey series with the Pennsylvania series paying out a minimum of $2,500,000.
In addition to the regular tournament prizes up for grabs, PokerStars will be running a promotion awarding North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Gold Passes valued at $10,000 to the top two finishers in each of the series' Main Event. The NAPT Gold Pass comes with a $5,300 buy-in to the 2024 NAPT Main Event in Las Vegas this November as well as cash to cover expenses and complimentary luxury hotel accommodation.
As if that were not enough added value, those American grinders already taking part in the "Path to NAPT" on PokerStars can use their silver or gold passes (different to the gold pass mentioned above) to buy in to $100 and $1,000 events during the series.
In order to play the COOP in the United States, you will need to sign up for an account with PokerStars PA, PokerStars NJ, or PokerStars MI. In addition, you will need to be located within the relevant state in order to play or risk forfeiting any money or tournament tickets won.

Series Highlights
Both markets get their respective series underway on September 13th with COOP 01: $100 NLHE [Turbo, Warm Up]. The guarantee for the first event is $40,000 in New Jersey and Michigan while coming in at a slightly lower $30,000 in Pennsylvania. The 2024 COOP concludes on September 30th with COOP 93: $50 NLHE [Turbo, Mystery Sendoff] with a $15,000 guarantee for New Jersey and Michigan based players and a $12,500 guarantee for those in Pennsylvania.
The highlight of the series is, of course, the Main Event, which will take place on September 29th. The $300 buy-in is identical across the two tournaments, though the guarantees do again vary. New Jersey and Michigan players will be competing for a minimum of $300,000. The Pennsylvania edition, meanwhile, offers up $250,000. Those for whom the $300 entry fee is too onerous can take advantage of a plethora of satellites running throughout the series to parlay as little as $1 into potentially life altering sums of money.
Outside of the Main Event, high rollers can look forward to the largest buy-in tournament on the schedule, COOP 87: $2,500 NLHE [High Roller Main Event Championship], which, in each instance, boasts a six-figure guarantee.
Those who may be more inclined to non Hold'em variants will find plenty of action in both Pot Limit Omaha events, such as COOP 31: $250 PLO [Omaha Championship] or mixed events like COOP 89: $200 8-Game [8-Game Championship]. Whatever your poker tastes in terms of game selection or stakes, the 2024 COOP is set to deliver!
