GGPoker Super MILLION$

Hungarys szagos is not a name that we are used to seeing in the GGPoker Super MILLION$ payouts with them only cashing once previously. They more than just cashed on July 20 because they were the last player standing at the $10,300 buy-in events final table, meaning they secured the $258,592 top prize.

jerbi9999 was the first of the nine finalists to bust despite sitting down at the final table fourth in chips with a stack worth 76.1 big blinds. Nothing went right for the Israeli, and their last hand was a testament to that.

Goldo raised to 72,000 from early position during the 15,000/30,000/3,500a level, and jerbi999 responded with a three-bet to 285,000 from the small blind. Goldo four-bet jammed, and jerbi9999 called off the 1,017,853 chips they had behind. It was kings for jerbi9999 but aces for Goldo. A queen-high board sent jerbi9999 to the rail and Goldo to the top of the chip counts.

Eighth place went to Anatoly Filatov, who was the second-shortest stack at the start of the final table. Filatov min-raised to 100,000 from the cutoff with suited ace-queen before calling off his last 872,490 chips when szagos three-bet all-in for 1,167,815 with pocket kings. Filatov flopped top two pair but szagos improved to a straight on the river.

Thomas Muehloecker was the next to fall by the wayside; his seventh-place exit came with a $58,665 payout. Muehloecker committed his last 11 big blinds with ace-king, and looked in great shape against the dominated ace-queen of szagos. That was until a queen flopped to resign Muehloecker to an early bath.

Initial Chip Leader Crashes Out

Start-of-the-day chip leader, Sergei Denisov, never got out of first gear at the Super MILLION$ final table, and he fell in sixth place. Denisovs demise happened during the 30,000/60,000/7,500a level when he completed the small blind, Goldo raised to 216,000, and Denisov ripped it in for 1,320,340 in total. Goldo called, and turned over pocket nines, which were flipping against Denisovs ace-queen. The board ran out king-high to bust Denisov.

Artur Martirosian was down to only four big blinds when Denisov busted, so he was delighted with being able to climb the payout ladder. Unsurprisingly, Martirosian was the next star out of the door. Martirosians micro-stack went into the middle holding queen-ten from the big blind but the Russian grinder was up against Goldos aces. No help arrived from the five community cards, and Martirosian crashed out.

The surviving four players were now guaranteed six-figures, and it was Belarmino Souza who was the man to claim the first one, namely $123,168. The Brazilian endured long spells of being card or situation dead, so finishing fourth should be considered a superb result. Souza bowed out when he shoved for 10.5 big blinds with king-eight from the big blind after Goldo had limped in. Goldo made the call with pocket jacks, which held to reduce the player count by one.

Heads-up was set after Goldo crashed out. Goldo started the day seventh in chips after winning their seat via a $1,050 satellite. That $1,050 investment is now worth $157,714. Goldo started their final hand by raising to 240,000 from the button with king-eight during the 50,000/100,000/12,500a level. szagos, from the big blind, three-bet to 730,000 with pocket queens, and was called. The flop fell jack-trey-jack, and szagos bet 386,875, which Goldo called. szagos welcomed the five of diamonds turn with a 580,313 bet, Goldo raised to 1,340,000 leaving himself only 421,436 chips behind. szagos jammed, and Goldo folded, resulting in szagos using the WTF! emoji.

Goldo busted soon after, losing his last 2.2 big blinds with queen-nine against szagos ace-deuce.

szagos held an 8,073,992 to 3,826,008 chip lead over Isaac Haxton, who was looking for his second Super MILLION$ title. It was not meant to be for Haxton, and he had to make do with the $201,950 consolation prize. The blinds were 70,000/140,000/17,500 when Haxton jammed for 1,165,368 with queen-ten, and szagos called with ace-four. An ace on the river left Haxton drawing thin, and he was drawing dead on the turn. Hungarys szagos is the latest star to secure the Super MILLION$ title at GGPoker.
