Klaus Mortensen Leads After Day 1a in The CPP Warm Up at partypoker
The 2020 Caribbean Poker Party (CPP) has been a huge success thus far at partypoker partypoker.
The festival, which for the first time is taking place online, guarantees in excess of a whopping $10 million over the course of 10 events (15 tournaments) from Nov. 15-25.
Klaus Mortensen Exits Day 1a with the Chip Lead in the Warm Up
Friday featured the first of three opening flights of the $500,000 guaranteed CPP 07: The Warm Up. The event is a progressive knockout (PKO) affair with $500 of each buy-in going towards the prize pool and the other $500 placed as a progressive bounty on each player's head.
Day 1a boasted an amazing structure that will be mirrored in Saturday's Day 1b with players starting off with a monster stack of 1 million in chips and blinds increasing every 20 minutes until surviving players virtually bagged chips into Sunday's Day 2. Day 1c on Sunday will be twice as fast as the other flights with 10-minute blind levels.
The first opening flight attracted 115 entrants to contribute $115,000 towards the $500,000 guarantee.
Denmark's Klaus Mortensen has not only already collected an impressive $4,594 in bounties for more than four-times the buy-in but also finished Day 1a with the chip lead with a monster stack of 22,688,237 to lead the way among the 14 players to survive the day.
Mortensen had a significant lead on the rest of the surviving field with Patrice Brandt (14,145,644), Jan Eric Schwippert (12,042,954), Karl-Joonatan Mets (11,398,323), and Francois Billard (10,478,858) rounding out the top five with eight-figure chip stacks.
Roberto Romanello was the sole partypoker ambassador to enter the action. He exited in 27th place but did manage to collect $500 in bounties before hitting the felt. Expect Romanelli and other ambassadors to get back into the action today with Day 1b kicking off at 7:05 p.m. GMT.
Day 2 will kick off on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 8:05 p.m. and will play down to a winner. Blinds will begin at 70,000/140,000 with an ante of 17,500 and increase every 20 minutes until a winner is crowned.

Events for Saturday, November 21
Saturday will feature Day 1b of the $500k guaranteed CPP #07 The Warm Up starting at 7:05 p.m where many other big names will enter in hopes of virtually bagging chips into Day 2.

The festival boasts three separate main events at different price points to accommodate players with differing bankrolls with the highlight being the $5,300 CPP Main Event boasting a massive $5 million guarantee.
