To the delight of low-stakes poker players, the MicroMillions has returned for its 16th edition for 15 exciting days of poker action on Nov. 10-24 at the world's largest real-money online poker room, PokerStars.
The festival provides great value to those without a huge bankroll with the schedule featuring 147 tournaments with combined guarantees of $4.3 million.
Unique Opportunity for Low-Stakes Players
Many poker players, including PokerStars Streamer Mason "PyeFacePoker" Pye, agree that there is no other series on the poker calendar where players have such an opportunity to turn a small buy-in into a big payday.
"Im super excited for MicroMillions!" he said. "Its a great way for players who dont have a significant bankroll to grind a full online series like if it was SCOOP or WCOOP. There are so many events all around the clock and there is always something for everyone."
Pye shared that there were three poker tournaments he particularly has his eye on, including the highlight of the festival, the MicroMillions 147: $22 Main Event on Nov. 14. It features a huge $1 million guarantee. This event attracted a massive field of 57,886 entrants to generate a mouth-watering $1,157,720 prize pool during the last edition of MicroMillions in July.
Hungary's "69FABIAN69" shipped the event for $100,668 after agreeing to a heads-up deal with Austria's "RoxyDeluxe", who collected $85,216 for their efforts. Also on the podium was Brazil's Diego "dilimAA" Lima in third place for $57,619.
Most of the year, there aren't huge prize pools available in online events in mixed games. This isn't the case during the MicroMillions, which is littered with different formats. Pye is particularly excited for two mixed game events on the schedule, including MicroMillions 101: $3.30 5-Card FLO8 with a $6,000 guarantee on Nov. 20.
"This is a new format that Im very excited to try out and play," said Pye. "Usually, this game is played with four cards. The more cards the better has never been truer in this case."
In addition, Pye is excited about the MicroMillions 131: $3.30 8-Game Progressive KO with a $7,500 guarantee on Nov. 23.
"I play a lot of 8-game on stream, but there are no 8-game PKOs on the regular schedule," Pye said. "This tournament will be so fun and will generate a lot of action in the limit games in order to hunt down those bounties. One not to miss."
"Its a great way for players who dont have a significant bankroll to grind a full online series like if it was SCOOP or WCOOP"
Pye points out that every player will have different preferences and that those interested in participating should find what is best for them while also trying out new games and formats.
I think its a good idea to take a look at the schedule, figure out which events youd really like to play and put together an itinerary for the two weeks, giving yourself time to rest in between so youre on your A-game for those events," he said. "Be sure to try out some mixed games and the new variants like ShowTime and Fusion. It can be a nice break from NLHE which will keeps things fresh and exciting.
Despite the low buy-in of all the events on the schedule, players can play in events of their choosing for even less with plenty of satellites for each event alongside spin & gos priced at just $0.40 that award MicroMillions tickets.
