Joe Walters Leads After RGPS Kansas City Main Event Day 1b
Joe Walters, who graduates next week with a business degree, is looking to spend this weekend taking down the Run Good Poker Series Kansas City Main Event. He took the first step Friday night and bagged the largest stack (284,000) ahead of 28 others during Day 1b of the $100,000 Guarantee main event. If perchance he were to win his way to Poker After Dark in the RGPS "Showbound" Season, Walters said he'd like to battle against Doug Polk.
The flight drew 151 players, bringing the total entries so far in the tournament to 273 entries. Walters leads the way, but Jeremy Tinsley isn't terribly far behind with 143,500. Tinsley most recently chopped the RGPS Bossier City Main Event earlier this month for $27,224.

Pokernews Podcast host [Removed:139] jumped into the game at the registration deadline after going to the Kansas City Royals game and failed to bag for the second flight. Meanwhile, Chris Horter found a bag after hopping in late as well. He advanced with 39,500.
Rodney Spriggs bagged the fourth biggest stack in the flight thanks in small part to a late knockout. It happened when Spriggs opened to 5,000 from middle position and the small blind moved all in for 7,600. Spriggs called and tabled 9?8? and was behind the K?Q? of his opponent. The board ran out A?Q?10?9?9? and hit running nines to take the pot and eliminate his opponent.
Likewise, Jordan DeGrenier bagged a top ten stack. Late in the flight, he shoved all in for 21,000 with the board reading A?7?3?A?2? against Charles Hansuld, who called. Both players had an ace, but DeGrenier had the best of it with Ax7x for the nut full house and doubled through Hansuld.
Several of the Run Good Ambassadors who are still looking for a spot in Day 2 are expected to join the field in the final flight Saturday at noon for Day 1C.
