Its not unusual for the PokerStars Sunday Million to end in a deal between the last handful of players. Such is the prize money at stake. But this weekends edition played through as it should, which meant a $140,572 score for the German known as Wild_Smurf.

A field of 5,202 players created a guarantee-busting $1,040,400 prize pool that was shared among the top 944 finishers. A min-cash saw the $215 investment turn into $333 but with more than $140,000 awaiting the champion, nobody would want the smaller amount.

Romanias instructore was the first player to be eliminated from the final table. It was a result worth $8,268; they were the last player not to walk away with at least five-figures for their effort.

TheMrsTT of Norway rode off with $11,782 for their eighth-place finish with Benjamin BC1989RF Chalot busting in seventh-place for a $16,790 addition to his bankroll.

Russian superstar Vladimir vovtroy Troyanovskiy ran out of steam to finish in sixth-place after firing two bullets. The second bullet netted him a cool $23,925.

Now the prize money was getting serious and the $140,572 top prize drawing ever closer. Worjoh busted in fifth-place for $34,093 and was followed to the sidelines by razvanik008 of Romania in fourth-place, a finish worth $48,581.

$69,227 and a fictional bronze medal went to Galva1388 of Brazil, which left francais50 of Belgium to battle one-on-one with Wild_Smurf for the title. It was a battle that Wild_Smurf would go on to win, meaning their $215 investment almost 14 hours previous, was now worth $140,572. Francais50 had to make do with the $98,647 consolation prize.

It was a Swedish one-two this week in the 888poker $60,000 Whale as Madeon1994 and creutz93 found themselves heads-up for the title and what was meant to be a $22,940 top prize.
