Sunday Briefing: OMGRubCasco Triumphs in Sunday Million

The PokerStars Sunday Million title headed to Uruguay this weekend after ��OMGRubCasco�� bulldozed their way to victory by sending no fewer than six of the eight players at the final table to the rail.

The first elimination at the final table took place 40 minutes after the final nine sat down. ��Relthor1301�� moved all-in for eight big blinds from the cutoff with ace-four, OMGRubCasco raised to 4.4 million with pocket eights, and ��MadMustach3�� moved all-in for 1.3 million with ace-king. A king on the flop gave MadMustach3 a much-needed chip boost and also sent Relthor1301 to the rail.

Eighth place went to ��Richie2412�� when he or she committed their final 11 big blinds with jack-ten and lost to OMGRubCasco��s pocket jacks. MadMustach3 open-shoved from the small blind for 15 big blinds with ace-nine and lost to the king-ten of ��smart747�� courtesy of a ten on the flop.

OMGRubCasco then returned to the role of executioner by cracking the queens of ��SenorValmano�� with ace-king; an ace on the flop would have been enough, but he or she also caught a king on the turn and a second ace on the river.

Smart747 was the next to fall by the wayside, their king-queen lost to the suited yet dominated king-eight of OMGRubCasco before OMGRubCasco sent Germany��s ��Lucky Luc78�� to the rail in fourth-place.

Canada��s Ryan ��newguy89�� McEathron was sent packing after OMGRubCasco won 11 consecutive hands, the last seeing their ace-nine beat McEathron��s dominated ace-deuce. This gave OMGRubCasco a five-to-one chip lead going into the heads-up battle with ��shaundmaster.��

Shaundmaster, who qualified for the Sunday Million via a $7.50 satellite, started to claw his or her way back into contention, but the fight back was halted when a cooler of a hand saw shaundmaster all-in with ace-queen and OMGRubCasco calling with ace-king. A king on the river meant OMGRubCasco had won the Sunday Million to go with their TCOOP title from a few years ago, but congratulations to shaundmaster who turned $7.50 into almost $95,000.

PokerStars Sunday High Roller: $100K Gtd

Lucas Greenwood reached the final table of the $2,100 Sunday High Roller last weekend. Fast forward to Jun. 24 and his brother, Sam, went and took down the tournament.

Sam ��Str8$$$$Homey�� Greenwood has been tearing up the Super High Roller events in the live arena of late, but showed he can still mix it up with the best of online poker��s stars.

Greenwood came out on top of a 59-strong field to turn his $2,100 investment into $40,879. Greenwood defeated Finnish star ��elmerixx�� heads-up for the title to resign the runner-up to a $24,983 bankroll addition.

The United Kingdom��s Charlie ��JIZOINT�� Combes, who is soon to become a father for the first time, was the first player to cash. Combes fell in seventh-place for a $4,898 score.

Combes was joined on the rail by Netherlands�� ��BillLewinsky��, Argentina��s ��ramastar88��, Brazil��s ��Guithome�� and then Damian ��pampa27�� Salas.

partypoker Super Sunday High Roller

The $2,600 partypoker Super Sunday High Roller saw a compact field this weekend with only 29 players buying in. The prize pool was still $72,500 thanks to the big buy-in of the tournament, which in turn meant champion ��PhileasFogg�� walked away with $32,625.

��PartyRainer,�� thought to be Rainer Kempe, was the unfortunate soul to burst the money bubble. Hia fifth-place finish meant there was no return on their investment.

��Mwhldwn�� was the first player to collect some prize money, namely $6,525. They were joined on the rail by Swedish legend Niklas ��Drulitooo�� Astedt who banked $13,050 for his third-place finish.

PhileasFogg and ��barrm111�� locked horns heads-up but the latter couldn��t quite get the job finished and had to make do with a $20,300 addition to the bankroll. The champion is one of the best players in the world and is currently ranked fourth by our friends over at PocketFives.

partypoker 1K Deepstack

One of the newer additions to partypoker��s Power Series schedule is the $1,050 1K Deepstack, which this weekend saw a field of 136 players create a $136,000 prize pool, $36,000 more than advertised.

The final 20 players all received a part from the prize pool with a final table appearance being worth $4,080. This is the sum now in the partypoker account of ��kellerassel0�� who busted in eighth-place.

The first player to receive a five-figure payout was fourth-place finisher floki123. Fourth-place was worth a welcomed $11,560. Third-place and $16,320 went to ��DeanMalenko�� with ��WhenLambo�� and ��geileaap�� left to fight it out for the first-place prize.

There was no deal struck despite a near $9,000 jump between first and second-place. This meant when WhenLambo bust in second-place, they collected $22,440 and geileaap banked a cool $31,266.

888poker $50,000 Whale

��Kiskutya23�� walked away with the $25,550 first-place prize of this weekend��s $50,000 Sunday Whale at 888poker. Some 54 players exchanged $1,050 for the chance to become a poker champion, and it was kiskutya23 who emerged victoriously.

Seven players were paid in this week��s Sunday Whale with a min-cash worth $3,285. This is the sum awarded to brazil��s ��Cuxixo888��. Canadian pro Mike ��Pipedream17�� Dietrich collected $4,015 for his sixth-place finish with ��kashlegend�� of Canada finishing in fifth-place for a $5,475 addition to the bankroll.

Fourth-place was taken by another Canadian in ��FlatTopTony�� for $7,300 before the in-form British pro Jonathan ��JohnFoot�� Proudfoot banked $10,950 for his third-place finish, the first five-figure score of the night.

Germany��s ��Sokra30�� crashed out in second-place to bank $16,425 which left kiskutya23 to get their hands on the lion��s share of the prize pool, namely $25,550.

888poker $50,000 Sunday Challenge

Argentina may be all but out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but they dominated the $50,000 Sunday Challenge at 888poker this weekend.

Three Argentinian players reached the final table of the $109 buy-in tournament. ��Yiy00�� busted in seventh-place and scooped $1,325 before a trio of Canadians crashed out in places four through six.

Malta��s ��HateH4teHate�� busted in third place to leave two players from Argentina fighting it out heads-up. There was no love lost despite the last two players hailing from the same motherland, and no deal was struck.

��Sh4p3less�� eventually fell in second-place for a $5,471 score while ��stockfish9�� banked a cool $7,148 plus bragging rights among their peers.
