The inaugural KO Series has just begun at partypoker with 164 action-packed tournaments and $10 million in guaranteed prize pools from Feb. 25 to March 4.

As the title of the poker festival suggests, all of the tournaments feature a progressive knockout format. This means every time a player eliminates an opponent, they collect a bounty while their own personal bounty also increases.

KO Series Schedule

The tournaments are broken out into Low, Medium and High events with also 10 High Roller events added to the schedule. The buy-ins range from $1.10 to $5,200 providing every player a chance to enjoy the poker festival regardless of the size of their bankroll.

In addition, partypoker is hosting satellites for each event where players can qualify in for a fraction of the cost.

The schedule features seven Championship Events, three of which boast a huge $1 million guaranteed prize pool. The first Championship Event already took place on Feb. 25 with the remaining six scheduled for March 4.

New Software Updates

Just before the launch of the KO Series, partypoker rolled out a new version of their software with many enhancements for their players. One of the main features is a new oval-shaped table which features clearer player plates and layout. Players can still opt to use the older racetrack-themed tables if they so wish.

In addition, partypoker rolled out new card decks and show the hero's cards side by side instead of overlapping. This provides players an easier view of their cards which is important especially when playing many tables at the same time.

One other cool feature is that the software now allows color coding to appear over the entire plate.

Future software rollouts will include bubble chat, the option to show a table in full-screen mode, and an option for players to see stack sizes in big blinds.
