Sunday Briefing

The majority of online poker players will never experience the joy of winning a Sunday Major due to the size of the fields involved and the fact they attract some of the best poker players in the business. "JohnyK91" of the Netherlands isn't like the majority of poker players, however, because he won not one but two PokerStars Sunday tournaments on Oct. 29 for more than $67,000.

JohnyK91 was one of the 1,518 players to pay $215 to enter the Sunday Warm-Up, which were enough players to surpass the $300,000 guarantee. After slightly more than 11 hours of intense action, JohnyK91 defeated Armenia's "BUYNI" heads-up to get his hands on $46,341.

Approximately seven hours after the Sunday Warm-Up started, JohnyK91 bought into the Hotter $215 along with 587 other PokerStars players. This turbo-structured tournament only took three and a half hours to complete and when the final hand was dealt, JohnyK91 was the last man standing and he collected an additional $20,728.

While JohnyK91 most definitely enjoyed a profitable Sunday thanks to this brace of victories, his wins were blown out of the water by the $158,014 "APonakov" won for taking down this weekend's Sunday Million. APonakov was one of four players involved in a deal; "callmuckty" was fourth for $80,098, "jakl&haid" finished third for $82,620 and "Stubastian" collected $83,706 for finishing as the tournament's runner-up.
