On the eighth day of the XL Eclipse Series on 888poker, players enjoyed a huge day of poker.

In total, 16 tournaments started with the XL Eclipse #97 - $200,000 Tune Up as one of the highlights. There was also the $600 buy-in $200,000 Whale edition where the winner won more than $50,000. Let's have a look at the results.

XL Eclipse #91 - $30,000 Sunday Lightning

888poker crowned the first winner of the day in the XL Eclipse #91 - $30,000 Sunday Lightning. In this tournament, 325 players competed for a total prize pool of $53,200. Ukraine's "PAS2HOFF" made a heads-up deal with "Roycieboy" and won the tournament for $9,022. The British runner-up received more money; $9,864.

XL Eclipse #92 - $45,000 Sunday Breeze

A regular tournament on all days of the XL Eclipse Series is the $45,000 Sunday Breeze. This time, 1,005 players registered for the event which created a total prize pool of $50,250. The victory went to Russia's "zhzhzh10" after defeating "wh2teee" in the final heads-up. They agreed on a deal which saw the runner-up take more money.

XL Eclipse #96 - $20,000 Sunday Swordfish

XL Eclipse #97 - $200,000 Tune Up

After over 12 hours of play, Event #97 - $160 XL Eclipse Tune Up finally crowned a winner. "Farrugia_1" from Malta claimed the first-place prize of $41,175 after defeating "A.Merone" in heads-up play.

The event had 1,046 players register with 479 rebuys for a total of 1,525 total entries. They created a prize pool of $228,750 with 135 places getting paid. "mskesevart" from Russia finished on the bubble and was unable to break into the money.

After nearly 11 hours of play, the tournament dwindled down to nine players who made up the official final table. It took a while before "hateVAMOS" was eliminated in ninth place after losing with ace-eight against ace-jack. Not long after that, "eltxupacabra" finished in eighth place for $4,575. Also, "2good2beTru" busted before the break on the final table. He lost his last chips with king-jack suited against pocket sevens.

With six left, it was "A.Merone" who took control after eliminating "chaimitof" in a huge hand with pocket kings against ace-king. "PaTientZer0" was happy to get the pay jump and he finished in fifth place for $11,438.

After the elimination of "PaTientZer0", the tournament was over in just half an hour. "Farrugia_1" took control by busting "elektive" in a huge pot with a set of queens against two pair. "elektive" finished in fourth place for $16,470. Just a few hands later, "Farrugia_1" busted "Venum1976" with a straight against two pair, sending "Venum1976" out in third place for $21,960.

The final heads-up took just two hands, before "Farrugia_1" won it all with pocket tens against ace-queen. He secured himself of the victory and the first prize of $41,775 while his fellow countryman finished in second place for $29,439.

XL Eclipse #98 - $25,000 Mini Tune Up

XL Eclipse #99 - $45,000 Sunday Monsoon

On the seventh day of the XL Eclipse Series, Chris "888Moorman" Moorman finished in third place in one of the events. On Sunday, he came close to winning a XL-title again. In the XL Eclipse #99 - $45,000 Sunday Monsoon, the 888poker Ambassador got close again but exited the tournament in third place for the second time in two days, receiving a prize of $5,257.

After his exit, Lithuania's "KofeBryant" won the tournament for $9,744 after defeating Russia's "CoinShipper" in the heads-up.

XL Eclipse #100 - $250,000 Whale

The most expensive tournament on Day 8 was the XL Eclipse #100 - $200,000 Whale. Players had to pay $1,050 to compete in this tournament and 214 did that. There were also 88 rebuys to get a total prize pool of $302,000.

Every finalist was guaranteed at least $6,040 and this prize went to "duchasp4rati" who busted in ninth place. After that, "PennyHrdaway" (eighth, $9,060), "IshmaeI" (seventh, $12,080) and "HUPIPELUR1" (sixth, $15,100) followed in quick succession.

Sweden's "SalsaFiesta" then busted in fifth place for $18,120, "AriGold17" finished in fourth for $26,425 and "JBA888" missed the heads-up when he finished in third place for $35,485.

The final heads-up between "Graftekkel" and "LOST_FAN" ended after ten hours and 5 minutes of total play; Dutch player "Graftekkel" won the event for $64,930. Russia's runner-up received $46,810 for second place.

XL Eclipse #101 - $100,000 Sunday Challenge

United Kingdom's "evianwater1" was one of the biggest winners on Day 8. He snagged the title and first prize of $21,430 in the XL Eclipse #101 - $100,000 Sunday Challenge after beating "Plotsch2" in the final heads-up.

XL Eclipse #102 - $25,000 Sunday Tornado

XL Eclipse #103 - $50,000 Turbo Mega Deep

XL Eclipse #104 - $20,000 Mini Turbo Mega Deep

Brazilian player "Ov3rTiLt" won the XL Eclipse #104 - $20,000 Mini Turbo Mega Deep and secured $3,917 after defeating "MarkECOOP" in the final heads-up.

XL Eclipse #105 - $20,000 Turbo Tune Up

"levelingmode" from Romania won the XL Eclipse #105 - $20,000 Turbo Tune Up, a tournament with a buy-in of $55. He defeated a field of 352 players after beating "Ender112" in the final heads-up and took the first prize of $4,160.

XL Eclipse #106 - $10,000 Super Turbo Tune Up
