Joseph Mitchell Wins Event #8: $333 WSOP.com Online Little Grind 0001

In what may have been a great heads up battle for a World Series of Poker bracelet, Joseph "ul_gg" Mitchell basically got a walk in the park. His opponent lost internet connection and sat out the majority of heads up play in the $333 WSOP.com Online Little Grind event, only returning to see two hands before Mitchell knocked him out after he made top pair with Q?J? on a board reading 4?3?2? Q? 6?.

Mitchell bested a field of 1,780 players in Saturday's one-day bracelet event. He arrived at the final table sixth in chips and soared to victory early Sunday morning to claim his first WSOP bracelet and largest tournament score worth $122,314.

Mitchell's first big hand was against Hao "sandongcpa" Sun. Sun had K?K? versus Mitchell's K?Q?. They got it in pre flop and Mitchell flopped the nut straight when 10?9?J? hit the board. The turn and river bricked off, vaulting Mitchell's stack to just over 10,000,000.

Mitchell then knocked out Michael "TonyPerkis1" Jacoby in sixth place after his pocket nines beat Jacoby's A?7? all in pre flop. This put him at about 16,000,000.

He wasn't done there as he also eliminated Bobby "bcmclawh" McLawhorn in fifth place. It was definitely a cooler hand as both players got it in preflop with premiums. Mitchell had A?A? and McLawhorn had 10?10?. The board never helped McLawhorn improve and Mitchell was taking control of the final table.

By the time Level 42 had started players went for a break and Mitchell had just under 21,000,000. There were three players remaining and he was way out in front.

He knocked out a super short-stacked Michael "ooookillthem" Addamo in third place, setting the stage for a heads up battle.

The battle never really took place as Mitchell won every hand while his opponent sat out.

This event was extremely successful for the first one of its kind and crushed the $333,333 guarantee with a total prize pool of $752,700. There are two more online bracelet events scheduled for this summer, the $3,333 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold'em High Roller on July 1 and the $1,000 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold'em Championship on July 7.
