WSOP Announces Circuit Stop in Rotterdam
The World Series of Poker has gotten a head start on announcing the WSOP Circuit schedule for 2017-18, revealing that there will be a new stop at Holland Casino Rotterdam.
The Holland Casino stop is scheduled for Aug. 25-Sept. 2 and will feature 13 numbered events with 12 rings to be won, including a 1,650 Main Event that runs Aug. 29-Sept. 2.
It's the first time the WSOP Circuit will be traveling to the Netherlands. The WSOP International Circuit has grown in recent years as the WSOP has made a concerted effort to expand its reach beyond American borders. The current season featured 14 international stops, hitting a number of European venues in places like Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, Belgium and the Czech Republic.
The global focus has led to the rebranding of the old WSOP National Championship into the WSOP Global Casino Championship. As usual, the Casino Champion the player who accumulates the most points at the stop and the Main Event champion at Holland Casino will each earn seats into the $1 million Global Casino Championship at a yet-to-be-announced date and venue.
