When 888poker last ran its Super XL Series, it created a schedule where there was $5 million guaranteed to be won across 63 events. Hundreds of poker players reached the Super XL Series final tables, with some banking potentially life-changing sums of cash.

Although it is almost a given that 888poker will create another Super XL Series, there has been no official word from its management team about when it will be. That said, PokerNews has discovered a tournament in the 888poker lobby which hints at the return of the Super XL Series, or at least a similar online festival, in May.

Head to the Special tab of the 888poker tournament lobby and sort the tournaments by buy-in. At the very top of the long list, you will find a $1,050 buy in event called the $1,500,000 XL Inferno C Main Event.

No other events with similar titles are to be found, although there are $109 buy in satellites to this XL Inferno Main Event running.

The $1,500,000 XL Inferno Main Event costs $1,050 to enter and for that princely sum players receive 20,000 chips and play to 20 minute blinds. If somehow they manage to dust off their generous starting stack while the late registration period is open, they can reenter for another $1,050 and take another chance at the $1.5 million.

What to Expect From the $1.5M XL Inferno

888poker hosted a $1.5 million guaranteed tournament at the previous edition of the Super XL Series. Including rebuys, there were 1,440 entries processed, meaning there was an overlay of $60,000.

Dominik 888Dominic Nitsche, Bruno brunof0ster Foster and Natalie 888natalieH Hof, each of whom are 888poker ambassadors, navigated their way to the money places; however, the impressive sums they won were blown out of the water by the nine players who made it to the final table.

Ninth place and $17,250 went to Spains Adrian ADRI_ATM Mateos and the prize money increased significantly with each elimination. spider4444 was squashed in fourth place and was the first player to bank a six-figure score ($106,500) while eventual champion Enigmasility walked away with a gargantuan $262,200.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for updates about this potential new tournament series at 888poker.
