A Bermuda teacher, ��jrww86,�� won a $1.2 million jackpot in a $100 Spin & Go on PokerStars Dec. 15.
Wishing to remain anonymous, jrww86, was among two other players, Belarusian ��netspider_by�� and Russian ��REVELKOF,�� battling for the jackpot in the $100 buy in tournament. He is now the third millionaire to come from the Spin & Go tournaments in 2016 and the 16th overall since the Spin & Go format launched in January of 2015.
After netspider_by shortstacked, REVELKOF took the chip lead with a club flush 6?Q?, kicking REVELKOF to the curb with $100,000 to keep him company.
Over the course of 14 hands, jrww86 took a 56 chip lead with 778 chips to his opponent��s 722, PokerStars reported.
The action reached the 30/60 level and jrww86 called, to which REVELKOF checked. On the flop, jrww86 revealed a two pair with J?Q? to overtake REVELKOF��s shoved 3?Q?. Thus, jrww86 won $1 million, leaving his opponent with $100,000.
According to PokerStars, jrww86 was ��too excited to talk.�� This 30-year-old works as a history teacher in Bermuda and has played poker for 10 years on a recreational basis.
��I am currently still in shock, but it is definitely a timely blessing,�� he told PokerStars.
This year, three players have won $1 million Spin & Go tournaments: "Rainman731" and Brazil's "guiemie01."
