PokerStars Announces a $1 Million Freeroll
PokerStars has announced a $1 million freeroll tournament that will take place on Saturday, March 19, for those in eligible markets. Officially titled the PokerStars $1 Million Freeroll, the tournament guarantees at least $20,000 to the winner.
Entry into the event is free, but you must win your way to the big show. Real-money players at PokerStars can claim a free satellite ticket that will grant them entry to a 90-man sit-and-go satellite. From each of those satellites, the top nine finishers will be awarded a seat in the PokerStars $1 Million Freeroll.
Here are the steps you must take:
- Open your 'Challenges Window' in the PokerStars client and opt in for your ticket
- After opting in, play one real-money hand of poker on PokerStars or one real-money tournament in order to release the ticket to your account
- Use the ticket to enter one of the 90-man sit-and-go satellites
- Finish in the top nine of one of the satellites and you will win an entry to the PokerStars $1 Million Freeroll
But, not everyone can reach the top nine of one of the sit-and-go satellites, right? What if you're aces get cracked and you're out? Don't worry, because you'll have another opportunity to win your way to the PokerStars $1 Million Freeroll.
For an additional satellite ticket, make a deposit of $20 or more using the deposit code "MILLION1".
The 90-man sit-and-go satellites will be running around the clock, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, but be aware that the PokerStars $1 Million Freeroll is limited to 100,000 players. If that cap is reached, the satellites will stop running. Satellites will also stop running two hours before the start of the event.
Start time for the PokerStars $1 Million Freeroll is 13:04 ET on Saturday, March 19.
According to PokerStars, prizes will be awarded to approximately 30,000-50,000 players, depending on the total number of entries.
