WSOP.com Announces "The BIG Deal" in Nevada and New Jersey
Starting Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, online poker players on WSOP.com in both Nevada and New Jersey will be able to participate in a brand new offering from the site. Dubbed "The BIG Deal" and taking place on the last Sunday of every month, the new tournament will feature a big $500 buy-in.
In Nevada, the tournament will feature a $20,000 guaranteed prize pool and replace the $20,000 Sunday Guarantee on the last Sunday of the month. Likewise, in New Jersey the guaranteed prize pool will be $30,000 and replace the $30,000 Sunday Guarantee on the last Sunday of the month.
Not only will the buy-in be different from the normal Sunday majors on each site, but the structure has been altered as well. In The BIG Deal, players will start with 10,000 in tournament chips (double the regular Sunday Guarantee) and the blind levels will last 20 minutes (five minutes more than the regular Sunday Guarantee). The rake will also be smaller. In the regular Sunday Guarantee tournaments, the $200 price tag is broken up as a $185 buy-in and $15 entry fee (7.5 percent). For The BIG Deal, it's listed as a $467 buy-in and $33 entry fee (6.6 percent).
In Nevada, The BIG Deal will take place at 3 p.m. local time. In New Jersey, the event will take place at 4 p.m. local time.
Each online poker site will have satellites running for the event to help players get in on the cheap. According to information posted on WSOP.com, there will be $5 super satellites running daily at 6:15 p.m. and $50 weekly satellites with five seats guaranteed running on Sundays at 5:45 p.m.
