You're no doubt aware that the biggest day of the week for online poker tournament is Sunday, which is when every relevant online poker site host major tournaments with huge prize pools.
This is especially true at 888poker. As the world second largest real-money online poker room, 888poker not only hosts a plethora of lower buy-in tournaments with decent prize pools, but also at least two major events each and every Sunday.
As if this wasn't enough, after some weeks of very good numbers, 888poker decided to give their guarantees an extra boost - adding more cash to the guarantees already on tap.
The $100,000 Mega Deep starts off early in the day at 12:30 ET with a structure that provides hours and hours of play. This event not only features a deep-stacked structure with 10,000 starting chips and blinds increasing every 30 minutes, but also just about every week exceeds its $100,000 posted guarantee giving players a chance at a huge payday for a $200+15 buy-in.
On Saturday, Sept. 13, 888poker will run a super-sized version of their Mega Deep tournament, offering a $150,000 guarantee for the same $200+15 buy-in, giving you a lot more value for your money.
The Sunday Challenge 1R saw its $100,000 guaranteed prize pool reduced to $75,000 during the summer months due to the lower volume, but earlier this week 888poker issued a note announcing that now that grinders are getting back to their computers, they've decided to bring back the old guarantee prize pool and once again offer the same, old, nice $100,000 prize pool.
This tournament also provides great value with a deep structure and takes place later in the day at 15:35 ET. Players start out with 5,000 chips for their $82+8 buy-in and are also given the opportunity for one rebuy for an additional $90. Although many players choose to take the optional rebuy to build their stack to 10,000, the structure is slightly faster than the Mega Deep with 15-minute blinds.
Many players try to play both of the aforementioned tournaments for a fraction of the cost by qualifying via one of the many satellites tournaments running on 888poker throughout the week. Satellites for the Mega Deep start at just $2, and there are free paths including a First Depositors Challenge Freeroll for the Sunday Challenge.
