Watch Jason Somerville Turn $100 into $2,500 in Less Than Ten Minutes
Team PokerStars Pro and avid Twitch.tv streamer Jason Somerville entertained his followers with a big win on August 20 when he managed to turn $100 into $2,500 in less than ten minutes.
Right when the player was about to end his daily session at PokerStars, a lucky shot at the room's highest buy-in Spin & Go games and a great read of his opponents' game allowed him to leave his grinding station $2,500 richer.
"I could play a fast hyper turbo or I could play another Spin & Go," Carver said right when it looked he was done for the day. Luckily for the World Series of Poker bracelet winner, he chose to buy into one of the new $100 buy-in Spin & Go tournaments and found the premium $2,500 prize waiting for him.
"That's a big Spin & Go! I'm glad we played one more," Carver exclaimed as soon as the total prize appeared on the screen. "I've never had a 25x before, this is a whole new experience for me. But now I need to win this one - that would be a pretty sick way to end the day. Let's just win this one."
Boom, baby! I love playing poker so much!
With the structure of the event giving the full prize to the winner and nothing to the other two players, Carver engaged in a thrilling battle against Australia's "JWPRODIGY" and Mexico's "santiagogome".
Despite an early all-in preflop in the first hand of the sit-and-go, the game went on with the players trying to minimize the risk of busting until "JWPRODIGY" decided to shove with the 3?3? following a raise from Carver, who called with the A?9?.
Unfortunately for the Australian, his pair did not hold as the board ran out Q?5?A?6?9? to give Somerville two pair and a 2:1 chip lead entering heads-up play.

Just two hands later, Somerville found himself all in again, this time for the decisive hand of the tournament. The action started with Somerville betting 85 from the small blind with the 8?A?, and "santiagogome" answering with an instant all in with KxQx.
"If he shoves, I call," said Somerville, who did indeed make the call.
As in the hand against "JWPRODIGY," the board helped Somerville when it came A?J?5?9?3? to give him a pair of aces and the $2,500 top prize.
"Boom, baby! I love playing poker so much! I am so glad I played one more Spin & Go," the player commented as soon as the hand ended.
The $100 buy-in Spin and Go games are the most expensive lottery-style sit-and-gos available at PokerStars to date. Introduced earlier this month, the sit-and-go events give everyone the opportunity to win up to $300,000, with the top prize being 3,000 times the buy-in. Earlier this month, Hungary's "LEV729" and "flesske" were the first players to capture the top prize, bringing home $300,000 each after only a few minutes of play.
