Season 6 of Mid-States Poker Tour Continues This Weekend at Meskwaki Casino in Iowa 0001

With the establishment of this year's November Nine, the 2015 World Series of Poker is on hiatus for a few months, and that means it's time for other tours to start up again. One such tour is the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT), which continues Season 6 this weekend with its latest stop at Meskwaki Casino in Tama, Iowa.

The stop, which kicks off on Saturday, July 18, will begin with a series of qualifiers and culminate in a $300,000 guarantee $1,100 buy-in Main Event from Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26. Remember, Meskwaki Casino only requires participants to be 18 to play.

"Year in and year out, the MSPT Meskwaki is one of the most anticipated stops each and every season," said MSPT owner/operator Bryan Mileski. "The stop always attracts a massive field, which is usually littered with some stiff competition such as Iowa's own Jeff Fielder and Blair Hinkle."

The MSPT was last at Meskwaki back in March, which is when Chad Willett defeated Rich Alsup in a marathon heads-up match to top the 371-player field and capture a $96,760 first-place prize.

Here's a look at the upcoming MSPT Meskwaki schedule:

Season 6 of the MSPT continues to grow, which was evidenced by their second-ever stop in Las Vegas, which attracted a massive 1,964 entrants and saw Angelina Rich capture a $215,815 first-place prize after a four-way chop. In the process, she became the first woman to ever win a MSPT title.

"My boyfriend and I were planning on doing some of the other MSPT trips in the Midwest, so we were looking through it and saw there was one in Vegas," Rich told PokerNews after her win. "It looked like a pretty good spot, there was a big guarantee, so we decided to register it and went from there."
