The Eugene Katchalov Love Story

PokerStars Team Pro Eugene Katchalov recently fell in love with a lady named Anna under unusual circumstances. Due to his popularity in his home country of Ukraine, he became one of the two finalists for the country's version of the popular television show The Bachelor.

In a blog titled WSOP 2015: What's Real in a Time of Love in a Time of War, we learn how, despite Anna's recommendation that Katchalov becomes the focus of the show, someone else was chosen. The chosen "Bachelor" selected Anna to be the winner of the program.

However, television doesn't often translate into romance, and in the end Katchalov became the true winner, now in a dedicated relationship with Anna.

Gone in 60 Seconds

Have you ever busted out of a tournament on your first hand? If you have online, it is easy to just fire up another tournament and move on. However, when playing live poker, it is often difficult to handle busting out so quickly unless it is a reentry event.

In a Full Tilt blog titled Gone in Sixty Seconds, Matthew Perry describes such an experience where he entered a live tournament with 600 big blinds and was out on the first hand on a bad beat after going all in with pocket aces.

As you can imagine, Perry was stunned when he hit the showers so early. Perry's comment to a woman at the registration desk, when she asked what happened, describes it all: I I honestly dont know.

I I honestly dont know.

King of Vegas Winner Makes Final 18 of WPT500 Aria

Partypoker made dreams come true for 50 poker players when they rewarded them with King of Vegas luxury packages. The package included an entry into the WPT500 Aria, where one determined package winner, Milan Harper, was hoping to parlay his fortunes into a big win with just 18 players remaining.

The partypoker blog titled Kings Of Vegas Winner Through to WPT500 Aria Final 18 discusses Harper's path to Las Vegas. The blog also expands on some of the other players that at the time were left in contention for the title and the $330,000 top prize including Craig Varnell, Hunter Cichy, Alexander Lakhov, Nick Binger, and Keven Stammen.

The blog was slightly premature as the tournament ended this past Monday with Varnell winning the title. However, Harper still parlayed his package into a nice payday taking home $33,000 after finishing in ninth place.

Visit the partypoker blog for more about Milan Harper and the WPT500 Aria.
