In last week's UK & Ireland PokerNews Round-Up we were delighted to report that John Gale had become the first 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner to hail from the UK, and this week we have news of a second champion!

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw isn't a game that you generally associate with British poker players, but that may all change thanks to Benny Glaser taking down the $1,500 buy-in event in that format. Winning a bracelet is impressive enough without the fact Glaser locked horns with luminaries such as Jon Turner and Sergey Rybachenko at the final table before denying Brock Parker his fourth piece of poker jewelry.

The UK was almost celebrating a third win this week when Simon Deadman found himself heads-up against Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier in the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Six-handed event. Deadman, who infamously finished as runner-up in several tournaments in 2014, was again the bridesmaid as Mercier claimed his third career bracelet.

Staying with the WSOP and live poker in general, we took a look at the results of the UK & Irish players through the first 28 WSOP events and were pleased to learn they'd won more than $2.1 million between them.

Closer to home, yet still on foreign soil, is the ongoing PokerStars UKIPT Marbella festival. At the time of this writing, the Main Event's Day 2 is in play and has plenty of players from the UK and Ireland in it. You can discover who progressed from Day 1a and Day 1b by clicking the respective links.

Lastly on the live front, as you'd expect with so many big scores being had at the WSOP, the UK & Ireland's Global Poker Index rankings have had something of a reshuffle with Stuart Rutter's impressive performances thus far seeing him return to the UK top 20.

To the world of online poker now and a trio of Brits helped themselves to scores of $20,000 or more during the latest batch of Sunday Majors. Charlie Combes, Rich Trigg and Jon Spinks each had a solid Sunday and the decision not to head to Las Vegas for the WSOP seems to be paying off for them.

One player who has been in hot form of late is Phil "philroyal888" Mighall, and his performance has seen him make his dbut in the top 20 of the UK online poker rankings. See who Mighall is rubbing shoulders with here.

Those of you who are interested in some industry news can get your fix by reading about bwin.party's share price falling by more than 7% this week, gambling giant Betfair releasing impressive trading figures, and a new wave of gambling awareness ads doing the rounds in the UK.
