Season 3 of Hollywood Poker Open Continues Feb. 26 in Tunica

Season 3 of the Hollywood Poker Open (HPO) continues this week in Tunica, Mississippi. The Hollywood Poker Open Tunica will host a dozen ��featured events�� from Feb. 26 through March 8, culminating with the two-day $1,115 HPO Regional Main Event on Saturday, March 7 at 12:00 p.m. local time. Located just 35 miles south of Memphis, Tenn., Hollywood Casino Tunica offers award-winning service and 54,000 square feet of action-packed gaming, not to mention a 494-room luxury hotel and first-class restaurants. As they say: "you'll discover a new level of gaming and entertainment."

Last year, the HPO Tunica saw Toby Mathews top both Jonathan Taylor (runner-up) and Chris Moneymaker (third place) to win the title, a $15,040 payday, and a $2,500 seat into the season-ending championship at the M Resort Casino Spa in Las Vegas. Speaking of Moneymaker, the 2003 World Series of Poker champ and HPO ambassador is expected to be in action.

The third stop of the season comes on the heels of two very successful events. Late last year, the Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg Main Event attracted a record-setting HPO field of 207 players and saw Jesse McEuen emerge victorious to capture the $49,676 first-place prize, and then earlier this month Charles Maxcy took down the HPO Toledo after a six-way deal.

Obviously, the HPO is looking to keep the ball rolling in Tunica.
