Most poker players dream about the day they win one European Poker Tour (EPT) event. It is almost unfathomable that a poker player can win two EPT side events in just one day, but that is just what Spain's Adrian Mateos accomplished on Feb. 7 when he not only won the 5,250 buy-in EPT Event #42 No Limit Hold'em - Turbo Cash - 6 Max, but also the 2,250 buy-in EPT Event #44 No Limit Hold'em - Turbo Cash - 6 Max during the EPT Deauville festival.

Mateos first won 36,290 ($41,448) in the EPT Deauville Event #42 when he beat out a small 18-player field, including fellow countryman Vicente Delgado, Ukraine's Eugene Katchalov, and Poland's Piotr Franczak.

While the PokerStars blog titled EPT Deauville: Mateos wins two tournaments in a day points out that Mateos should consider only playing turbo tournaments, we respectfully disagree despite his amazing double-duty achievement on Saturday.

According to The Hendon Mob, where Mateos is ranked No. 1 on Spain's all-time money list with $2,183,922 in live tournament cashes. Mateos' biggest win came at the 2013 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event where he bested a 375 player field for a 1,000,000 ($1,351,661) payday.
