2015 Aussie Millions Poker Championship

The 2015 Aussie Millions Poker Championship, which will feature 21 events ranging from AUD $1,150 to AUD$250,000, is slated to kick off Wednesday, Jan. 14 with Event #1 AUD$1,150 No-Limit Hold��em "Opening Event."

For the ninth year in a row, the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to capture the action from the series�� most prestigious events including the AUD$10,000 Main Event from Sun. Jan. 15 through Sun. Feb. 1; $100,000 Challenge from Sun. Jan 25 through Sat. Jan. 31; and $250,000 Challenge from Sun. Feb. 1 through Mon. Feb. 2.

What��s more, the final table of those three events has a new home in 2015. Crown��s Studio 3 previously housed the televised studio, but now the Asia-Pacific��s richest and most prestigious poker series now has a second home at one of Australia��s largest conference center at Crown Melbourne. The new film set and tournament playing is being dubbed the Aussie Millions ��Exhibition Hall�� and features 27 poker tables, a caf��, and registration booth. The ��Exhibition Hall�� will host the following events:

  • Daily $250 Phase 2 Satellites (at 4 p.m.)
  • Nightly $1,150 Phase 3 Satellites (at 6 p.m.)
  • Event 10 - Main Event - Final Table
  • Event 11 - $100,000 Challenge - Final Table
  • Event 12 - No Limit Holdem Terminator
  • Event 13 - The Aussie Millions Tournament of Champions
  • Event 14 - No Limit Holdem / PLO
  • Event 15 - No Limit Holdem - Mix Max
  • Event 21 - The LK Boutique $250,000 Challenge - Final Table

"Crown Melbourne's Aussie Millions Poker Championship has effectively become one of the top poker majors and a favorite amongst some of the most renowned players in the world," said Crown Melbourne's Director of Poker Jim Preston. "And the stage has never been brighter."

For the second year in a row, the Aussie Millions Main Event will partner with the PokerStars.net Asia-Pacific Poker Tour. With the partnership in place, the Aussie Millions schedule was pushed back a little bit deeper into January allowing for players to make trips to both the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, which is happening now, and the Aussie Millions.

Among those expected to make the trip to Melbourne for Aussie Millions festivities are Christoph Vogelsang, Dan Shak, Dan Smith, Erik Seidel, Jason Mercier, Mike McDonald, Sam Trickett, Patrik Antonius, Winfred Yu and Phil Ivey. They��ll join local heroes like Jackie Glazier, Jeff Lisandro, Oliver Speidel, Shane Warne, Tony Bloom and of course Joe Hachem.
