Brett Angell Wins UKIPT London Main Event for $185,058

The United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) and the European Poker Tour (EPT) collided last week by kicking off a massive festival in London. On Sunday, Brett Angell was crowned the UKIPT4 Grand Final champion adding ��115,083 ($185,058) to his bank account.

The UKIPT final table was quite diverse with players from six different countries, United Kingdom, United States, Switzerland, France, Denmark, and Russia all competing to become the next UKIPT Grand Final champion.

When the action dwindled down to two players, Angell and Switzerland's Fabrizio Fuchs agreed to a heads-up chop to even out the big pay jump from second place to first place. Angell began the final table as the chip leader while Fuchs had to battle his way to get to where he was with one of the lower starting the day.

On the final hand of the tournament, the two players were all-in with Angell's AxKx dominating Fuchs' Ax9x. The board ran blank for both players, awarding Brett Angell the title and Fabrizio Fuchs a healthy ��98,717 ($158,741) consolation prize.

EPT Underway - Anatoly Filatov is the Day 1a Chip Leader

Sunday not only marked the conclusion of the UKIPT, but also the beginning of the EPT London Main Event. Russia's Anatoly Filatov has the honor of being the Day 1a leader with 173,900 in chips.

Rounding out the top five are Portugal's Jose Quintas (141,100), Greece's Maximos Pertsinidis (128,600), Norway's Johnny Lodden (125,800), and the UK's Alexander Trevallion (125,100).
