2014 World Poker Tour Legends of Poker Day 2: Chris Tolone Leads Final 67 0001

The World Poker Tour Legends of Poker from The Bicycle Casino continued on Tuesday, and the field was cut from over 200 players remaining down to 67. With 54 spots set to pay out in the event and $576,369 up for grabs to first place, Day 3 should lend itself to an exciting day of poker.

Chris Tolone topped the pack of survivors moving forward with his stack of 982,000 in chips, and he did so in spectacular fashion. Right at the end of Day 2, Tolone and Nick Grippo played a big one. By big, we're talking over 900,000 in chips when the blinds were at 2,500/5,000 with a 500 ante in Level 17.

According to the WPT Live Updates team, the two got the money in preflop with Grippo holding the best of it with the K?K? to Tolone's Q?Q?. Unfortunately for Grippo, who bagged up the Day 1b chip lead, he was eliminated and fell short of the money.

Joining Grippo on the rail were Jason Dewitt, Barry Greenstein, Joe Serock, JC Tran, Phil Laak, Michael Kamran, and Day 1a chip leader Randy Bowie, and that means they too won't be adding any cash to their pockets.

Tran fell in Level 16 with the blinds at 2,000/4,000/500 to Amit Makhija. It was Tran's pocket sixes that couldn't come from behind against Makhija's pocket tens, and he was out the door.

Greenstein fell at the hands of David Chiu, who also had pocket tens. Chiu's 10?10? held up in a preflop clash against Greenstein's K?J? after the board ran out 4?4?2?2?A?.

Day 3 will begin at 1 p.m. local time on Wednesday, and you can find a recap of play at day's end right here on PokerNews.
