World Poker Tour Returns to the UK

The last time a full World Poker Tour (WPT) event took place on British soil was in 2010, when the now Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody emerged victorious in London and secured the second prong on his soon-to-be-completed Triple Crown of titles.

As the weekend ended and a new week began, the owner of the Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) poker club in Nottingham, Rob Yong, published a blog on the clubs website that revealed the WPT is to return to the UK in November 2014 for a 17-day festival at the DTD.

British Players Bank Massive Scores in the SCOOP

The PokerStars Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) dominated the headlines on the UK & Ireland site thanks to players from those countries helping themselves to some absolutely massive prizes as the SCOOP came to an end.

Former European Poker Tour Vilamoura champion Toby 810ofclubs Lewis picked up over $160,000 for a second-place finish in the 45th SCOOP Event the $1,050 NL Holdem Wrap-Up Turbo Reentry but that impressive sum was put into the shade by some of the life-changing sums won by some of Lewis fellow Brits.

The SCOOP Main Events created huge prize pools and players from the UK helped themselves to hefty slice of them. Zimnan Ziyard, another former EPT champion, won $473,499 when he came second in the $1,050 buy-in Medium Main Event while the unknown "Better C4ll" and Peter "Se7entr3y" Akery secured unbelievable wins of $890,820 and $860,000, respectively.
