Gioco Digitale WPT Venice Carnival Day 1b: Taborsky Captures Overall Lead
Three WPT Champions Club members made it through to Day 2 of the Season XII Gioco Digitale WPT Venice Carnival, but none of them emerged with a larger stack than overall chip leader David Taborsky.
Taborsky led the 68 survivors with 100,300 chips, while Roberto Romanello, Giacomo Fundaro, and Vladimir Bozinovic all ended Day 1b with an average stack.

Also reaching Day 2 was partypoker pro Kara Scott, while fellow pro Jamie Kerstetter hit the rail.
According to the WPT Live Updates Team, Kerstetter moved all in with the A?K? only to run into an opponent's KxKx. The pocket kings held up, and Kerstetter was knocked out.
Darko Stojanovic, Jan Bendik, and David Vamplew also fell on Day 1b. Stojanovic attempted a triple-barrel bluff then was eliminated with an inferior straight, while Vamplew moved all in with AxJx on a completed board of QxQx5x4xAx. Eros Nastasi called with AxQx, and the Scot hit the rail.
Day 1b attracted 92 entrants, bringing the total field size to 143. Registration is open until the start of Day 2 (14:30 local time), and the WPT will release the prize pool information shortly thereafter.
