She Lok Wong Does It Right and Wins 2014 Foxwoods Poker Classic $2,700 Championship
On Sunday, March 23, the 2014 Foxwoods Poker Classic $2,700 Championship Event came to a close. She Lok Wong from Forest Hills, NY emerged victorious to claim the $95,000 top prize after striking a deal with Sam Haddad and Mazen Nesheiwat. Haddad earned $92,434 for second place, and Nesheiwat pocketed $84,125 in third.

With a field of 226 entries and a prize pool of $548,050, the top 24 places were set to be paid with first place originally worth $133,177. Following he conclusion of play on Day 1, 82 players remained with David Vaillancourt as the chip leader. His run came to an end on Day 2, though, but Vaillancourt did make it into the money and finished in 19th place for $7,398.
Others to cash but not make the final table were David Paredes (22nd - $6,850), Dena Pearlman (16th - $7,946), Hilary Dombrowski (15th - $8,494), and Andrew Stone (12th - $9,590).
Heading into Day 3, Stone was the chip leader with 13 players remaining. Unfortunately for him, he was the second player eliminated on the day and it was then time for the final table bubble. This is where Mike Schoultz's run would cease.
According to FoxwoodsPoker.com, Schoultz was all in with Ax9x against Nesheiwat's AxJx. The flop, turn, and river provided no help for Schoultz, and he was eliminated in 10th place for $9,590.
At the final table, Robert Ricciuti fell in 10th place for $9,590, Joseph Tieri busted in ninth place for $13,712, Antoine Younes finished in eighth place for $17,537, and Daniel Chalifour went out in seventh place for $21,374. Then, Bharath Sreekanth was bounced in sixth.
Sreekanth was all in preflop with the 6?6? up against the A?K? for Haddad. The flop paired Haddad when the K?7?5? fell, and he took the lead in the hand. Following the J? turn card and A? river, Sreekanth was eliminated. He earned $26,307.
After that, Michael Jarvela took fifth for $32,883, and Aaron Smith collected $43,844 for finishing in fourth. It was at this point that the final three players opted to make a deal for the remaining prize money and the trophy, which was awarded to Wong.
With the victory, Wong pushed his career live tournament earnings up over $366,000. This score of $95,000 proved the second largest of Wong's career �� his best came in November 2013 when he placed second to Russell Crane in the Borgata Fall Poker Open Championship for $203,394.
